Registration FormTo participate in Fashion Revue you must fill out the registration form along with entry forms for any of the six categories you plan to enter. Deadline for registration is March 25, 2008. PurchasedIn the Purchased category, the 4-H member must select, purchase and coordinate an outfit on a budget, not exceeding $150.00. This includes all outwear and accessories. All sales receipts (or photocopies) must be tallied and submitted with application. Undergarments are not included. RecycledIn the Recycled category, the 4-H member designs and sews a wearable garment from previously used materials. The original garment is not yardage like a bedspread or sheet or curtains, but an actual garment. The new garment must show at least 50% change in construction. Before and after photographs are required as well as swatches of the fabric used. TraditionalIn the traditional category, the 4-H member must have sewn the garment. Accessories may be made or purchased. They will need to provide a copy of the pattern cover as well as fabric swatches of the garment made. Needle ArtsThe 4-H member demonstrates their ability to knit, crochet or weave a garment and coordinate an outfit around that garment. It must be an entire garment like a poncho, skirt, shirt, dress, ect. Scarves, hats or belts are accessories and can be added, but are only used to complete the outfit, not be the outfit themselves. Wearable ArtIn the wearable art category, The 4-H member embellishes a purchased garment with paints, sequins/beads, appliqué embroidery etc. A photo of the garment before and after is required ChallengeDesign and sew a backpack using Butterick pattern 5054, views C or E only. Purchase or sew an outfit to coordinate with your backpack. For Fashion Revue judging, the backpack is the main "garment" and the outfit is the "accessories". Use your creativity with fabrics, colors and details to personalize your design. The optional Ipod accessory may be added to enhance your Backpack. Happy Stitching! |
