This write-up was taken from an interview with Mrs. Tubbiola on May 30, 2003.

Our 4-H Club was started by one of our Teachers, Mrs. Kathy Levy. She was a 4-H leader in the city of Orange. She taught the Autistic class at our school and she thought the 4-H projects would motivate her students. Mike Mann worked out all of the details and 4-H was born at Jordan Jaguars.

Enter Mrs. Jan Tubbiola! Mike Mann saw a loving enthusiastic person whose children had graduated out of 4-H. He knew that Jan had been the Fountain Valley Cloverdales Club Leader for 8 years and a supervisor for 4-H Building at the OC Fair. Besides, he knew that Jan probably didn't have anything else to do in her "retirement!" Well, the rest is history -- she became the Co-Leader with Kathy.

Needless to say, 4-H was loved by ALL of the students at Jordan Jaguars. After Kathy took her class to Pacifica High School, Mrs. Nancy Wong took over the 4-H Club leadership. And, yes, Mike was right, Mrs. Tubbiola is enjoying her time at Jordan Jaguars. She related, "While driving to a meeting, I said to myself, 'I don't HAVE to be doing this,' but she smiled and answered, 'It is MY REWARD to work with these kids! I love them.'"
