COMPUTER & DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

ORANGE ACRES BACK BREAKERS

GENERAL Calendar
PHOTOS Archive

YEAR: 2006-2007

Leaders:    Robert & Jann Koepke   Contact Info

Meeting:  Third Tuesday of each month

Goals:  We will learn how to use several different programs on the computer to enhance your digital photos and to create different methods to present them as well as learn various aspects of photography.  If you are really "into it" you can take pictures during your projects to post on our web site and to show as a slide show for the entire club.   And, of course, to have fun!
What to expect: You should have a digital camera and a computer for this project, but it is not a requirement.  We will learn what makes a good photograph and how to compose pictures.   We will also learn how to use software such as Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro to clean up and enhance your photographs.  This is your chance to be artistic and give your photos a clean look, or a wild look.  Other software will let you organize photos.  You will learn how to present your photos in different ways - from printing for framing and greeting cards through slide shows you can watch on your television.  We'll use a scanner to convert older photos into digital.
Time Required: Meetings are one day each month plus several outings.  But you really need to spend additional time on the computer to become proficient.  If you want to help take photos of projects for the web and the OABB slide show, it will take several additional hours each month.
Effort Required: You can show off your best digitally enhanced photos or create a poster or display
YOUTH EXPO (a "learning fair" of 2-3 days)
Submit a photo or an entire slide show - or a poster  or display
    ORANGE COUNTY FAIR
Whatever you show at Youth Expo can be submitted again at Youth Expo
Estimated Costs: You can go through this entire project year at no cost.  But if you want, you can purchase a digital camera and software - prices vary.   Ebay is a good source for inexpensive software and equipment - but be careful and try to purchase from reputable sources.
