Meeting: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of the month
| Goals: | Getting everyone comfortable in the kitchen and to have fun! And if there is anything special that you want to do at a meeting let us know – we're open for ideas! |
| What to expect: | Everyone's gotta eat and what better way than cooking it yourself? While we learn the importance of a healthy diet and the food pyramid, we will try out some new recipes and tempt our taste buds with new things. We will also learn the proper table settings and manners and the all important safety tips. |
| Time Required: | Meetings are one day each month; you may want to try your skills at home. |
| Effort Required: | In addition to enjoying the food you have
cooked during the meeting and at home, you will be expected to submit at
least one item at Youth Expo and the Orange County Fair: FOOD FIESTA (one weekend day in January) Prepare and submit one dish to be judged YOUTH EXPO (a "learning fair" of 2-3 days) You will submit your tastiest dish ORANGE COUNTY FAIR Cook again (the Youth Expo food is probably stale) the same or a new dish |
