Meeting: Once each month plus outings
| Goals: | Each member to improve his or her boarding skills (snowboarding, skateboarding, sufing...) - and to have fun! |
| What to expect: | Members learn about techniques, equipment, safety, and more during the monthly meetings. Put this information into practice during our outings. You will need to have your own equipment or rent it for the outings. |
| Time Required: | Meetings are one day each month, plus outings as scheduled |
| Effort Required: | You can make a poster or display to show
at Youth Expo and the Orange County Fair YOUTH EXPO (a "learning fair" of 2-3 days) Submit your poster or display for judging ORANGE COUNTY FAIR Submit the same poster or display or a new one for fair |
| Estimated Costs: | Varies depending upon the type of boarding. Skateboarding can be very inexpensive - an entry level skateboard can cost as little as $25. For Snowboarding, you can purchase packages with everything you need starting at around $275. Like everything else, you can spend a lot more. Or you can shop end of year sales or garage sales and save some money. Or you can rent for $20 - $30 per day. In addition to transportation and food for the outings, you will need lift tickets for Snowboarding costing $25 - $60 per day depending upon your age and where we go. |
